Communication Barriers

I think that technology helps and hinders overcoming communication barriers in today’s society. I think technology helps overcome communication barriers with telehealth. With telehealth it is easier for patients to overcome communication barriers by using a phone or internet etc. Also another benefit technology has to overcome communication barriers are with electronic health records. Personally I think that the electronic health records provide a better way of forming communication with your colleagues in a much more effective and accurate way. On the other hand I think that some technology can hinder overcoming communication barriers, especially in the nurse-patient relationship. I think that technology is eventually going to take the place of any therapeutic relationship in the nurse-patient relationship. Even though I think technology has many benefits, I think there is still room to improve.
